Celebrating Growth at Our New Oxfordshire Studio & a Look Back at 2024
As December rolls in, and we crack open the mince pies, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the transitions that have shaped the past year and look forward to new beginnings. How's your year been? At Print Pattern Archive (PPA), 2024 has been quite a year! Incredible growth, exciting collaborations, and embracing change with creativity and innovation.
From the opening of our online print boutique, a growing team, partnering with global brands and a new baby in the mix, it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster at times! Each step has been part of our evolution—and now, as we open the doors to our new Oxfordshire countryside studio, we’re entering another new chapter for 2025. It’s been a LOT of hard work but seeing it pay off feels good.
Looking Back on 2024: A Year of Transformation
This year has been defined by movement and adaptation—both in our work and in how we’ve grown as a business. On a macro level, we’ve enjoyed feeling in to trends and, using our creative intuition, helped clients stay ahead and succeed. By merging global social influences and archive inspiration with cutting-edge innovation in hand-painting techniques to AI applications—we’ve ensured that newness remains at the forefront of what we deliver. `We live for happy inspired clients!
On a micro level, our work with fashion buyers, high-street brands, and interiors specialists has reinforced the importance of truly tuning in to our clients. Problem-solving, adapting to their needs as their internal work situations change, and staying flexible have been key, all while being rooted in our values: quality, timeless design, and putting people first. ‘Yes’ has been the word of 2024.

The themes of transformation and collaboration have run through everything we’ve done. Whether it’s finding new ways to reimagine vintage or spending time pioneering new techniques that weave fresh stories into patterns, 2024 has certainly shown us the power of constantly evolving creativity.
Welcoming our New Space for Collaboration
One of the most exciting transitions for us this year has been the opening of our Oxfordshire countryside studio. Nestled in a serene and picturesque setting at Long Crendon Manor, this space is more than a workspace—it’s a sanctuary for creativity, fun, connection, and collaboration.
While our Manchester HQ holds the majority of our archive, the new studio serves as an artist’s haven for our creative community. It’s a space to get the paint out and get messy, allowing for the kind of organic design work that corporate environments often lack the time or freedom to explore.
The studio embodies everything we stand for: a blend of heritage and innovation, tradition and modernity, individuality and teamwork. We want our clients to immerse themselves in our archive of antique wallpapers and fabrics, participate in trend workshops, and collaborate with us to bring their visions to life. It’s an inspiration station where clients can let loose creatively, and enjoy the refreshing clarity that comes from stepping into a dedicated creative space.
Transitions and Collaboration: The Heart of Creativity
Looking back, one of the key lessons of 2024 has been the importance of collaboration. True creativity thrives when ideas are shared, perspectives are valued, and expertise comes together.
At PPA, collaboration isn’t just about working with our clients; it’s about building something exciting together. It’s about understanding the pulse of fashion and interiors trends, reimagining the possibilities of design, and helping our clients elevate their ideas and nail their creative vision.
This year, we’ve welcomed many new clients, including Harrods and Burberry, alongside independent brands ready to launch their own fabrics and wallpapers.
The most exciting collaboration, our new Northern Powerhouse is a testament to collaboration. A partnership between PPA, Alexander Maverick Fabrics, and John Mark Wallpapers, it’s a one-stop shop for creatives and brands looking to launch their own fabric and wallpaper ranges. It can be a daunting process but with PPA’s unique market intel we have a birds eye view of the industry as well as fashion influencing interior trends ahead of the game. The archive is an amazing starting point before design and range-building. Alexander Maverick and John Mark bring decades of manufacturing expertise, we’ve created a seamless and confident experience for clients with great commercial results. Get in touch if it’s something you wish to explore for commercial interiors or retail projects.

One of our lovely clients, Nicola Ash, for whom we developed a range of fabrics and wallpapers, says,
‘ Working alongside PPA has been such an amazing experience. I’ve thoroughly loved being part of the whole process from initially choosing archive pieces to then those designs being reimagined, recoloured and brought back to life into beautiful luxury products.
Cheryl has introduced me to so many fabulous companies such as Nick at Alexander Maverick fabrics to John mark ltd to help make my collections come to fruition Can’t wait to bring out the rest of the designs in the New Year.’
Nick Thomas, Creative Director at Alexander Maverick talks about the project.
‘It such a pleasure to work with historical documents from the archive which have been brought back to life with such skill and sensitivity by PPA. The collection we’ve printed for Love All Things Quirky is my favourite of the year and illustrates the incredible potential when clients are clear on what they love and have suppliers who creatively support their passion’
Ending the Year with Huge Thanks
As we're nearly ready close out 2024, we want to thank our clients, collaborators, and supporters who have been part of our journey. Your trust, feedback and creative vision have made this year extraordinary, and we can’t wait to see what we’ll create together next year!
This year’s highlights:
Cheryl - 'For me, growing a fantastic team has been so rewarding and understanding the challenges of our team working around family. People are the heart of the business, and it’s a joy to see the company thrive. I’ve worked with lovely clients on luxury brand projects, and I love the excitement of seeing new ranges move to sampling—and the delight of the final results!”
Kerri - 'Without a doubt, the biggest highlight for me has been welcoming my daughter Lily into the world. It’s been a life changing transition—figuring out how to balance being a mum while still feeding my creative energy and running the business.
One of the most refreshing things has been seeing how warmly Lily has been embraced by clients and our team—it’s even inspired others to see how baby and work life can blend together. Of course, it hasn’t been without it's challenges (every month brings something new!), but the support from our team—especially Cheryl—has been so heartwarming. I couldn’t have done it without them!
The Oxfordshire studio is an absolute dream and I can't wait to share the space with clients, friends, designers and the community in the new year. '
As we move into 2025, we’re excited to continue innovating, collaborating, and transitioning alongside the industries we serve. Our Oxfordshire studio is open, and we’d love to welcome you in the new year. Let’s embrace the art of creative transition and innovate together so 2025 is your best year yet!
